Def Leppard Guitarist Reveals Timeline for Upcoming Projects

It looks like Def Leppard isn’t wasting any time in 2014!

In a recent interview with Artisan News, guitarist Phil Collen stated that the band is planning to hit the studio come February 1 to work on their latest projects.

As Collen previously revealed to Rolling Stone, the band is planning to put out both an EP and full-length album this year, marking Def Leppard’s first set of brand new songs since 2008’s Live from the Sparkle Lounge.

Collen tells Artisan News that the band is “excited and buzzy” about their latest music, explaining, “I can't even remember the last time we were like that about that stuff. 'Cause it's been a long time since we've had new recordings out, so it's like a brand new band; you have all these ideas and we're just gonna get together and bash it out.”

Meanwhile, Def Leppard will also celebrate the 31st anniversary of their 1983 album Pyromania with another residency in Las Vegas later this year. Dubbed “Viva! Pyromania” the event follows-up the band’s 2013 Vegas residency, “Viva! Hysteria,” which spawned a recent concert film and live album.
