Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris’ house in the Bahamas is something many may dream of having, but it turned into more of a nightmare when armed robbers broke in last month.
According to a report from Tribune 242, a group of men allegedly sawed through chains that were locking the front gates and broke into the home sometime between midnight and 2am on November 29. They then proceeded to have an altercation with an elderly caretaker who had been watching over Harris’ home in his absence, leaving him injured.
The suspects are said to have made off with over $8,000 worth of items from the house.
Tribune 242 states that two people are currently in custody in relation to the robbery, while a third suspect remains at large. Police have also reportedly recovered roughly $5,000 worth of the stolen property, and their efforts so far have been highly praised by those involved.
Harris, who has been with Iron Maiden since its inception in 1975, splits his time between his homes in the Bahamas and Los Angeles, the former of which was being used as a storage facility and office. There has been no update on the condition of the injured caretaker, and Harris has not commented on the burglary.
