Aerosmith Bassist Sits Out of Recent Festival Due to Health
By: AnnMarie Scaramuzzino

Our well-wishes going out to Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton, who recently fell ill and had to sit out of the band’s Monsters of Rock festival performance, which took place on Sunday (October 20) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Blabbermouth reports that David Hull, who has previously performed with guitarist Joe Perry’s solo band, filled in for Hamilton.

Earlier this year, Hull replaced Hamilton during Aerosmith’s Australian tour dates, when Hamilton had to return to the U.S. due to a chest infection. Further, Hull also sat in with the Boston rockers in 2006 while Hamilton was recovering from throat cancer.

Aerosmith has two more South American concerts scheduled this month in Brazil and Mexico on October 23 and 27, respectively, but there’s been no word on whether or not the band’s full lineup will be intact.

We hope that Tom can get “Back in the Saddle” again soon, and speaking of which, check out Aerosmith’s performance of the song from the Monsters of Rock festival below and tell us what you think!
