The release U2’s first new album since 2009 is growing closer, but in the meantime, fans can get a preview of at least one new song from the band.

The track, entitled “Ordinary Love,” can be heard in the new trailer for the upcoming Nelson Mandela biopic, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, which was released via Yahoo! Movies.

According to Billboard, U2, who have long been supporters of the famous South African revolutionary and politician, wrote the song with the intention of its use for the film, after being asked by Harvey Weinstein of the Weinstein Company.

“It was the fastest 'yes' I have ever received,” Weinstein told Billboard. “The band saw various cuts of the film over the summer and worked diligently to write a song that truly reflects Nelson Mandela. I think they did a brilliant job honoring the man and the leader they have known for over 20 years.”

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is due out in theaters on November 29, which is around the same time that bassist Adam Clayton recently revealed that U2 is hoping to complete their new album.

In recent interview with an Irish radio station (via NME), Clayton stated that the band hopes to have all twelve songs ready to go by the end of next month, so they can enjoy the holidays with their families.

“I think it’s a bit of a return to U2 of old, but with the maturity, if you like, of the U2 of the last 10 years. It’s a combination of those two things and it’s a really interesting hybrid,” Clayton told 98fm.
