Paul McCartney and the rest of the Beatles became a house-hold name when they performed on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, and nearly fifty years later, Sir Paul is returning to late night in a different way!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, McCartney will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! next week, but it won’t be taking place in a studio. Instead, the singer will rock a free show on Hollywood Boulevard, which will be shut down between Sycamore Ave. and Highland Ave. in preparation for the event.
Promoting his forthcoming studio album New, due out on October 15, McCartney will also chat with Jimmy Kimmel before hitting the stage for a performance that’s expected to draw a crowd of thousands.
Earlier this week, McCartney released a lyric video for the title track from New, which marks the singer’s first of all-original solo material since 2007’s Memory Almost Full.
Check out the video for “New” below and head to HollywoodReporter.com for more info on McCartney’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! performance, which will air on ABC on Monday, September 23.
