Todd Rundgren will release his 24th solo studio album, "State," on April 9.
Rundgren recorded the entire 10 song-set himself, as he did on 70s classics such as "Something/Anything," "Todd" and "Hermit of Mink Hollow," with help only from vocalist Rachel Haden on the track "Something For Nothing."
"State" is Rundgren's first set of all-new material since 2008's "Arena;" during the interim he released "Todd Rundgren's Johnson," a tribute to the blues great and Rock 'n' Roll forebear Robert Johnson, and "(Re)Production," featuring his recordings of songs he produced for artists such as Meat Loaf, Patti Smith, the Tubes, Grand Funk Railroad, Hall & Oates and others.
The full "State" track list includes: "Imagination," "Serious," "In My Mouth," "Ping Me," "Angry Bird," "Smoke," "Collide-A-Scope," "Something From Nothing," "Party Liquor" and "Sir Reality."
Rundgren will support the album with a world tour whose first U.S. leg begins May 5 at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, N.Y. More information and updates can be found at www.tr-i.com.
