Indiana had the second highest adult smoking rate among the 50 states in 2005. This is a major public health concern because tobacco is linked to a long list of social and economic problems, including higher rates of illness and premature death, reduced productivity, and increases in medical costs and health insurance premiums. The good news is that researchers have identified many policy options that states can implement to reduce tobacco use and promote health and economic well-being. This forum will provide a public venue for state legislators, government staff, and the public to learn about a variety of effective policy strategies, including tobacco taxation. Please join. The forum is free and all are welcome. click here to pre-register.
