New
Blues News from Paz....
I have some very special SuperSessionz lined up for this
Festival season: first up: The Village of Oxford's Hot
Blues & Bar-B-Q, June 19 & 20. Friday night at 9pm, in
downtown Oxford,, I'll be joining one of my favorite
bands for rompin' funky good time; Josh Boyd & the VIP
Band. Formerly from Toledo, they are Michiganders now,
with a very cool sound; think Rory Gallagher with James
Brown's rhythm section.....ouch ! Also: Friday night,
and all day and night on Saturday, both events are FREE
this year!!!!!!
A rare
opportunity presented itself for this year's Windsor
Bluesfest International, July 16-19, on the banks of the
mighty Detroit river. On Thursday, July 18, 6pm, I will
SuperSessionally morph into the Detroit legendary Howlin'
DIablos ! I go waaaaaay back with Tino, Johnny, Johnny
B and all the boys, this should be quite a party, as we
open up for the brothers from Texas, Los Lonely Boys.
Other headliners for this festival include Johnny
Winter, Motown legends: the Funk Brothers, ex-Rolling
Stone Mick Taylor, Larry McCray and more (info at
thebluesfest.com).
Sandwiched
in-between the above mentioned Festivals dates, the
SuperSession returns to our favorite clubs: on Saturday
June 27, join me at Callahan's in Auburn=2 0HIlls as I
join Paul Warren and his fine band. Paul's resume is to
die for: as a teen, played the smokin' guitar on the
Temptation's classic "Papa was a Rollin' Stone", then
went on to tour and record with Rod Stewart and Joe
Cocker (more info atcallahans.com). If you are hanging
around town during the 4th of July weekend, please stop
by Friday, July 3rd at Memphis Smoke for my SuperSession
with the Brothers Groove and ...?

ALL ABOUT THE PAZ
There’s no better authority on Classic Rock & the Blues than 94.7 WCSX.
Every Sunday from 9-12 mid. WCSX presents The Motor City Blues Project.
The show is brought to you courtesy of Mark Pasman, professional
musician and your Backstage Paz to the Blues!
Pasman is a guitarist, arranger and producer. He has been with bands
like Domino, the Motor City Blues Project, and currently Mudpuppy.
Pasman lives and breathes the Blues.
As
most of you know, over the past 20 years of hosting the Motor City Blues
Project, I've done alot of work with our friends at the Michigan Humane
Society. The current mortgage/financial crunch the country is going
through, is especially bad here in Michigan. And, one of the results of
thousands of people walking away from their houses....many are leaving
their beloved pets behind! If you are thinking of adding a pet to your
family, please call the numbers above...their are hundreds of wonderful
pets that will love you for a lifetime if you would share your life.
Thank you !
