SMOKIN @ MEMPHIS
Posted 10/19/2009 10:10:00 PM
Two great night last week at Memphis Smoke, Royal Oak. Our Seger, "Travelin Man" book release on Thursday was great. So many of you, great Seger tunes from Lookin Back and severe writer's cramp..Cramps cleared in time for Saturday's perfomance by "The HellDrivers". B and McCarty brought the heat and singer Jim Edwards was captain showtime. His voice is perfect for that band. .They also dusted off the The Rocket's classic "Lost Forever, Left for Dreamin", from the 2nd Rockets album. Too much. I provided  a little sonic mayhem on "Gimmie Shelter", which closed the night. I spotted the newlywed Wally Palmer and his lovely new bride Kelly in the crowd. Wally was able to make it all the way to age, censored, stone cold single. Wow...TEACH ME OBIE WHAN!
