Here’s a story that will make any Pink Floyd fan wish they lived in England.  The BBC has uncovered rare Syd Barrett-era footage of the band that was thought to have been lost, and the network will air it next month.  The 42-year-old video is of the band performing “See Emily Play” on the famous British music show Top of the Pops.  The tapes were thought to be destroyed or thrown out, as the BBC often does with boxes when they need storage space, but two tapes of the show were discovered.  Although they were badly damaged, the British Film Institute was able to restore them and the BBC is set to air them on January 9th.  Hopefully clips will leak to the Internet soon too.
