It sucks, it hurts, but I believe changing the decision would be wrong. Since instant replay isn’t currently being used, changing the decision would open up a can of worms involving countless questionable calls from the past across the league. I’m not sure I’m ready to have the human element taken out of the game of baseball. You certainly couldn’t have instant replay on balls and strikes, that zone is interpretive. Some say it’s just progress, we need to go there to bring the game into modern times. I like replay in football… not sure it’s right for baseball. Although it is sad to think of The Captain working for another organization, it makes sense. Steve Yzerman is a competitor who wants to take his game to the next level. I spent some time on the golf course this weekend helping out my brother Knights of Columbus at their outing. I had volunteered to work rather than golf because I didn’t want to embarrass myself, but after seeing some aweful tee shots, I’m golfing next year. I took my son Jon to see the new Shrek movie. It was my first experience with Imax 3D. WOW! My reaction was like man seeing fire for the first time. I was blown away. The movie itself was pretty good. It seemed to be more action oriented and less funny, probably because of the 3D thing. Sunday, I worked outside all day til sunset doing yard work and building new pens for my goats and ducks. It was fast paced action like a horse race. I was impressed by the auctioneer and how fast he talked and incorporated all the info including giving WCSX a shout out. It was a bit intimidating at first as I watched the cars roll into the garage, a verbal flurry of information and hands being raised… then a bell rings…SOLD! And it starts all over again. There are people on the floor to assist those less experienced like myself. But once you’ve observed a few rounds you get the hang of it. I saw just about every type of vehicle imaginable from boats and campers to sports cars and commercial trucks. Great condition to poor. The sun shinning in a big blue sky, a slight cooling breeze as I sit in a lawn chair,holding a cold Strohs beer dripping from ice water, watching the world go by at a snails pace and listening to the soothing voice of Ernie Harwell on the radio...Golden! In todays synical society, I can't imagine another man like Ernie coming around. Ernie Harwell was a living example of christian values. A genuine class act professionally and personally thru and thru. To my surprise our goats had babies...3 to be exact. Adorable little dudes...not sure I want 5...2 is a handful. The dad is an escape artist...crafty, strong goat.   Because money is tight, we decided not to do chickens just yet, but promised my son Jon, he could have a couple ducks. Hello, Mr. & Mrs. Waddles.   Finally... wasn't planning on replacing our dog who recently passed, but fate is a funny thing. We met Kylie by chance at a booth that the local adopt a pet organization had set up while we were shopping. As soon as I saw her, I thought "it's my old dog reincarnated". The breed, coloring, disposition...all very similar. Must be karma. We found our old dog in very much the same way. I noticed that everything is in 3D now. I wonder how long this fad will last…haven’t experienced it yet. I put on the bunny costume for the egghunt at church again this year. I was smart and dressed light. Previous years I got so hot, I thought I’d pass out…horrifying the kids. All went well. Couldn’t help but to break my diet over Easter. We had a wonderful meal at Webers in Ann Arbor. I saw a very cool T-shirt over the weekend. Kwamee Kilpatrick and Monica Conyers were back in court this week and their actions just amaze me. Kwamee thinks the judge is being biased and acts as if he’s being persecuted. Monica after pleading guilty(rather quickly I might add) was kickin and screaming that she wasn’t going to jail for something she didn’t do. Huh? Kwamee…dude…you were the mayor of a major city…you don’t know anything about your own finances? The receipts, your lifestyle…it’s perfectly clear to us. Monica…I tell my kids, if you didn’t do something with 100% certainty, don’t admit to it no matter how hard you’re pressed. It’s that simple. And when you do admit guilt accept the punishment.
