I watch “The Bachelor”. I wish I could say that Christy watches it and I passively look on from the couch. But I can’t. Don’t worry. I don’t let it get in the way of my “24” viewing. And I know that you must think less of me as a human. But I do watch it for the train wreck phenomenon. It’s one of those “it’s so bad – it’s good” television situations. This season features some of the worst female characters we’ve ever seen. We have Gia whose had more facial surgery than Kris Draper. Her face literally looks like it will start to melt in a heavy rain. We have Tenley who has been so emotionally devastated by her ex-husband that she figured the perfect cure was to go on a reality dating show with 24 other women. And you know each and every year that someone will write an obit for Jack Bauer and 24 because the show gets off to a rocky start. I read my first one this morning courtesy of AOL. Here’s a link in case you’re interested in reading it. The writer makes some outstanding points. In short, she thinks that Jack has taken too much of a backseat in the plot. She has no interest in the female storylines (Renee, Dana/Jenny, Chloe). And she thinks that New York is being wasted.
