------here's the original story from Monday--------
Flint, Michigan native Evie Branan, 79, suddenly awoke from a 5-year coma on May 7, 2011, and her first uttered words were, “I want to go to a Bob Seger concert.” It’s been two years since and Evie is getting her chance to attend that concert.
This Thursday evening, April 11, Ms. Branan will accompany two nursing home workers who have cared for her since her debilitating stroke seven years ago to the Seger show at the Palace. And, thanks to the nursing home administrator, Michelle Cross, and the Seger management company, Punch Enterprises, Ms. Branan will not only attend the concert, but she will also have the opportunity to meet her rocker hero and his band.
This will not be Ms. Branan’s first Seger concert — in fact, it will be her fifth. The previous four occurred well before she suffered her stroke at age 72. Mrs. Cross says one would never know the aging lover of rock was 79, saying, “She’s as lively now as she was in her younger years.” Branan says she is very thankful for this second chance and the opportunity to see Seger again. “I’m so excited I can hardly breathe,” she said. “What am I looking forward to the most? Hugging Bob Seger and giving him a big smooch.”
