Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) passed away on Wednesday - his family released this statement “With great sadness we have to announce that Alvin unexpectedly passed away early this morning after unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure. We have lost a wonderful much loved father and companion and the world has lost a truly great and gifted musician.”

We were talking about his performance at Woodstock - the word "amazing" is used way too often in music, but this fits. Rest In Peace Alvin.
