Jimi Hendrix Again!

Posted 3/8/2010 1:15:00 PM
It’s not often we hear the announcement of a new album from an artist who has passed on. That’s exactly what’s happening with the planned release of a new Jimi Hendrix album.

Veteran recording engineer Eddie Kramer mixed the 12 tracks that make up the new album, which bears the title Valleys Of Neptune. Those tracks were recorded by Hendrix over a period of four months during 1969, approximately a year before his untimely death at the age of 27.

He obviously holds Hendrix in high esteem, offering advice to young guitarists who are hoping to make their mark on the music scene. According to Kramer, if you want to play guitar, you should listen to Jimi Hendrix play first. Advice that probably not too many seasoned musicians would argue with.

Aerosmith Coming Togather

Posted 2/22/2010 1:51:00 PM

News has emerged that Aerosmith – with Steven Tyler –has been ...

Posted 2/2/2010 11:16:00 AM
Sunday, Feb. 9, 1964, over 73 million Americans gathered around television sets to see what all the excitement was about. For several weeks American radio stations had been saturating the airwaves with Beatles music. The power of radio had led to sales of millions of Beatles singles and albums. For weeks, the country had been warned "The Beatles Are Coming!" The American press picked up on the story, with several magazines and newspapers running feature stories on the group. Two days earlier, CBS and ABC showed film of The Beatles' arrival in America at New York's Kennedy Airport on their evening news shows. But the big event was The Beatles' first live appearance on American television, which took place on the country's most popular variety program, "The Ed Sullivan Show".
The excitement began shortly after 8 p.m. EST when Sullivan gave his famous introduction: "Now yesterday and today our theatre's ...
